How many times do you drag your other hand in the water while Handplaning? I'd say 75% of the time when it's not over your head while trimming or doing a windmill. This got me thinking it would be nice to have another handplane different than your main squeeze, one that is smaller and beveled on all sides so it doesn't catch an edge. Just think of the increased planing surface, speed and control this would give you! Can't wait to try these out, will post more pictures when I'm done! Yeeeew! Spread the stoke!!

Was able to try out the "Outrigger" a couple days ago and was very stoked! Being out on a day that was breaking mostly lefts it worked out really well seeing that my main handplane with channels was on my left hand while the outrigger paddle was on my right. I found myself using the Outrigger as a rudder trailing behind and steering but at the same time lifting and creating more planing surface and speed.
I was also curious to see how the Outrigger would work with one on each hand (without my main plane with channels). I found that my lead hand would push water because of the bevel on all sides and was not as fast as my plane with channels.
In conclusion, the Outrigger paddle worked killer in conditions where the waves were breaking in one direction where I would always go left with my main plane with channels on my left hand and the smaller plane on my right.
- Totally stoked the Killawava Outrigger does what I made it to do!
